Biography

Nomfundo Kakaza is a co-Lecturer in Economics for Managers in the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration Programme. She holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies, an Honours Degree in Economics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Telecommunications and Information Policy, a Bachelor of Economics in Education and a Bachelor of Commerce in Education. She is pursuing a PhD which she started in the Netherlands.

Kakaza assisted with academic writing and course development for the TelNet Africa Postgraduate Diploma at the University of South Africa and presented at the 9th International Business Conference in Livingstone, Zambia. She managed her consulting company and international projects, such as the launch of Investment South Africa and West Coast Steel. She was appointed the first head of the Postal Regulator in South Africa and assigned to the South African Public Service’s High Level Cases Disciplinary Committee.

Her research areas include empowering small emerging building contractors, communications and the informal sector.
