Professional interests

  • For much of my career in business, I’ve worked as a consultant and project manager for a range of enterprises in South Africa, United States, United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. As an academic, I have taught the following modules: Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Marketing Management; Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDipBA), Marketing for Managers; Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Introduction to Operations and Supply Chain Management. I have also facilitated sessions at the University of the Witwatersrand, Brenau University and at various private colleges in Pietermaritzburg and Durban.
  • Prior to appointment at GSB&L, I held a Management position at the Extended Learning unit of the University of KwaZulu-Natal where he managed a team of staff involved in designing and coordinating Executive Education Programmes that are run in collaboration with the UKZN Graduate School of Governance (GSB&L) and with the School of Management, IT and Governance (SMIG): Management Development Programmes (MDP), Emerging Managers Programmes (EMP), Equities and Investment Management Program, Finance for Non-Financial Mangers (FNFM), Supply-Chain Management (SCM), Certificate in Public Adminstration (CBA) and Certificate in Public Administration (CPA).
  • I have also worked as a manager at the Imperial Group motor division Head Office in Johannesburg and as Director of Training Company.
  • Volunteer – assists various faith-based organisations with drafting and designing of strategies, writing funding proposals and with skills development

  • Candidate for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Leadership at the University of KwaZulu-Natal: Dissertation on Business Process Redesign (BPR) in the South African Public Sector.
